1972's THE MECHANIC is a classic Charles Bronson action flick, with many more dialogue free action sequences than I remembered. Bronson is Arthur Bishop, a professional hitman at the top of his game. After deciding to bring the son of one of his targets (Jan Michael Vincent) under his wing and train him in the art of assassination, Bronson finds that he can no longer trust the people he works for, or anyone around him. Some good action sequences, decent direction from Michael Winner (Death Wish, Scorpio) and the usual stoic Bronson schtick make this a solid 70's action movie and FAR superior to the boring remake with Jason Statham. We'll target this Mechanic with a B-.
