Definitely in my all-time Top 100 films, David Fincher's SE7EN is fantastic. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are newly partnered detectives challenged with a gruesome serial killer acting out the "Seven Deadly Sins". Director David Fincher is a genius. The mood, the pacing, the style with which this gory, suspenseful, exciting and horrifying film unspools makes it one for the ages. Kevin Spacey shines as John Doe, in what is surely his most unusual role. Just try and escape the power of Kyle Cooper's opening credit sequence, Howard Shore (and Trent Reznor's) music score and the dark, disturbing mood set by Fincher. The climax is one of my all time favorite endings to any film. DARK, powerful and brilliant. I'll never look at those pine scented Christmas trees that you hang in a car quite the same way again....
