It took me 42 years to see this Best Picture winner from 1969. What makes it great: powerful acting by Dustin Hoffman (you are reminded here how brilliant his early roles were; he IS Ratzo Rizzo!) and Jon Voight here playing the world's worst male hustler, Joe Buck. Great supporting performances and a glimpse of what NYC used to look like in the hard late 60's early 70s. It's hard to believe this was rated X when it was first released. A mild R by today's standards, but still brilliant after all these years. John Barry's score and Nilsson's classic "Everybody's Talkin" still hold up today. A
