Anyone looking for a new version of the 80's Don Johnson, pastel socks and white suit wearing TV show is in for a shock from this dark, moody Michael Mann film. I don't remember anyone smiling in the entire 2 1/2 hours, but man does this beautifully photographed, gritty movie draw you in. It's not in a hurry to go anywhere, but rocks you with some great action set pieces if you have the patience to get to them. Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell are both good and interesting here, but don't have much chemistry together. Gong Li seems like she wondered in from another movie at first, but grows on you. If you liked "Heat" from Michael Mann (a long time favorite of mine) bet you like this one too. B
