This is one of my top 100 all time faves, but take the recommendation carefully! It's emotionally racking, depressing but fascinating and I was truly sorry when it was over. Tom Cruise shows some wide range, Jason Robards is strong in his final role and John C. Reilly, Julianne Moore doing their usual great work, are just a couple parts of a huge and perfect cast. This movie introduced me to Director Paul Thomas Anderson, who is now one of my faves. POWERFUL film, dealing with family drama, anger and loneliness. At three hours, its not a night of light viewing, but for me, gets more powerful with every viewing. At the point the frogs enter the picture, you are either in or out. Count me IN. A+
