Finally catching up with the Harry Potter film series and really enjoyed the first film, 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It's a tribute to director Chris Columbus and the casting director that leads Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grant and Emma Watson are so good here, holding the screen very well against the likes of Richard Harris, Maggie Smith & John Hurt.
Robbie Coltrane is a personal fave as Hagrid and the entire world of Hogwarts really comes to life accompanied by an almost non-stop beautiful music score by John Williams. Many great scenes, led by an impeccable cast add up to a strong kickoff for this hugely successful film series. Already looking forward to watching the next installment. Harry conjures up a solid A- to kick things off.
