30 years after it's release (WOW that's hard to believe) GHOSTBUSTERS still gets big laughs and has become a comedy classic.
Bill Murray is in peak form as Peter Venkman, a college professor more interested in seducing co-eds than research. Dan Aykroyd is Ray Stantz, the true believer in the supernatural and the "Q" of the ghostbusters and Harold Ramis is Egon.
The trio is in the right place (NYC) at the right time as an ancient demon makes plans to invade Manhattan and take over the planet.
So many lines from the film have become part of film history and Murray & Aykroyd were never better.
Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis lend great support as the sexy/nerdy vessels for our demon.
Anytime the conclusion of a film includes a ten story tall Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, you have my attention.
"This Chick is TOAST!"
"Dogs and Cats living together....mass hysteria!"
"It sounds like you've got at least two or three people inside their already.."
All of Murray's lines are classics and no one can throw away a line like he does. Hilarious.
Special effects guru Richard Edlund brings his best stuff into play and pre-CGI, it's terrific.
If you haven't seen Ghostbusters in a long time (it had been at least 20 years for me) you may be surprised by just how funny it still is!
Who you gonna call??!!
Ghostbusters holds a special place in our 80's memories and gets an A+.
Followed by a sequel five years later and an all-female reboot in 2016.
