It's safe to say that I haven't laughed this hard at a profane, action-packed superhero movie since the original Deadpool. DEADPOOL 2 delivers everything you want in a sequel.
It's Bigger, more exciting, funnier and jammed with enough "in-jokes" to make any fanboy smile.
Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool/Wade Wilson, expanding his team to help protect a teenage mutant boy, Firefist, perfectly played by Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople).
Featuring the best "Let's put a team together" sequence in memory, it plays like a fall-over-funny tribute to "The Dirty Dozen" and "The Blues Brothers" lets put the band back together scenes.
When that team parachutes in to save the day, all to the blaring sounds of AC/DC's Thunderstruck, it's laugh-out-loud and thrilling at the same time.
For this adventure, Deadpool must battle the time-traveling bad-ass cyborg Cable, embodied to the hilt by Josh Brolin.
The fact that Brolin also played Thanos does NOT go unnoticed by Deadpool, firing off one-liners as fast as bullets.
Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) is perfection as Domino, TJ Miller is back as Weasel, as is Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
There are hilarious throwaways from the XMEN, a "Skyfall" like title sequence from Celine Dion that's as visually cool as it is funny and a fantastic sequence as our team and Cable battle aboard a massive iron transport vehicle.
If you're looking for funny, DEADPOOL 2 delivers the goods. My face hurt from laughing. Deadpool's hate of Wolverine is so perfectly depicted here that I couldn't stop grinning at every reference.
Anytime you can skewer "Logan", "Yentl", "Frozen", "Les Miserables", "The Goonies", "Infinity War", 'Robocop" AND "Passion of the Christ" in one movie, you've got my attention.
Just watch when Deadpool breaks the fourth wall to talk to the audience and Cable notices, its subtle and consistently funny.
Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. Based on this one, I hope they make ten more.
I'm still laughing...!
I've watched the parachute sequence four times and it gets funnier with every viewing.
Brad Pitt as Vanisher might be my favorite cameo of all time.
DEADPOOL 2 gets an A.
Stay tuned through the credits for some of the funniest Marvel credit sequences ever, neither of which I will mention here!
